MEET OUR HOST
We are delighted to announce that the evening will be hosted by Charlene White, award-winning journalist and broadcaster. Charlene will guide us through the ceremony as we recognise the outstanding contributions shaping the future of our profession.
Charlene White is an award-winning journalist, presenter and author, known for her work across television, documentary, and current affairs. A trusted voice in British broadcasting, she became the first Black woman to present ITV News at Ten in 2014 and is a regular face on ITV News and the panel of daytime show Loose Women.
Charlene has fronted a number of powerful documentaries, including Has George Floyd Changed Britain?, co-hosted with Sir Trevor McDonald, and Empire’s Child, a personal exploration into Britain’s colonial past. She also created IRL with Team Charlene, a Royal Television Society award-winning children's series tackling racism and its impact on young people in the UK.
Her work spans both primetime broadcasting and written journalism. A regular columnist for the i paper, Charlene’s writing has also appeared in the New York Post. Her debut book, No Place Like Home (2024), blends memoir with stories from others to explore identity, belonging, and what home means today.
Charlene is also passionate about supporting future generations, mentoring aspiring journalists and championing greater representation in the media industry.
An experienced host and facilitator, Charlene brings professionalism, warmth and insight to every event. Her hosting work includes the BETT Show, RTS Craft Awards, Black Women in Asset Management Awards, ITV comedy launches, and more. She is available for keynote conversations, panel moderation, fireside chats and awards hosting across a wide range of themes including journalism, diversity, identity, and representation
